One-off on-site diagnostics

On-site vibration diagnostic snapshots

A focused on-site vibration check for a motor, pump, gearbox or other rotating machine. Get the evidence you need to plan inspection, maintenance or further monitoring.

From £125 · one-off service · no subscription required

Start with the machine in front of you

A practical first step before replacement, shutdown or a monitoring contract

A diagnostic snapshot is a focused on-site inspection and vibration-measurement visit. EchoShift captures evidence from relevant machine points, records the operating context and interprets the patterns that matter to the maintenance question.

The report explains the main finding, the evidence behind it and the confidence supported by the measurements. If another measurement would materially improve the decision, that is identified as the next step.

Clear starting price

Diagnostic snapshots from £125

A single-machine diagnostic snapshot starts from £125. If the site, machine count, travel or diagnostic scope makes the job more involved, the price is confirmed before attendance.

When to use it

Useful when something has changed

Use a snapshot to investigate a change, assess a suspected component or compare machine condition before and after maintenance.

01

New or increasing vibration

A machine feels rougher than normal, operators have noticed a change, or an existing vibration reading has risen.

02

Noise or mechanical concern

A motor, bearing housing, gearbox or driven component sounds different and you want evidence before intervention.

03

Bearing concern

There is reason to suspect rolling-element bearing deterioration and the machine offers a usable measurement path.

04

Post-maintenance check

You want to compare the machine after bearing, coupling, alignment or other maintenance work.

05

Comparison between machines

Two nominally similar assets behave differently and you want a structured vibration comparison.

06

Before continuous monitoring

You want to establish whether the asset justifies a longer monitored deployment.

Rotating machinery

Diagnostics across the rotating machine

Measurement points follow the bearings, drive and connected equipment relevant to the concern.

For snapshot work, a rigid magnetic sensor mount can provide a fast, repeatable no-drill measurement on suitable ferromagnetic surfaces. Existing threaded points or stud mounting may be used where appropriate. Mounting quality, surface condition and position are treated as part of the measurement — especially for higher-frequency bearing evidence.

On-site process

From maintenance question to usable evidence

The visit stays focused on the decision you need to make.

01

Define the question

Confirm the machine, symptom, operating condition, access and what decision the measurement needs to support.

02

Capture vibration

Take measurements at relevant rigid locations, record orientation and operating context, and use comparison points where useful.

03

Analyse the evidence

Review overall vibration, spectral and harmonic behaviour, bearing-focused evidence where appropriate, and agreement between measurements.

04

Report the next action

Summarise the main finding, the confidence behind it and the most useful next maintenance or measurement step.

Diagnostic output

A diagnostic result you can act on

The output is written for maintenance use: clear findings, relevant vibration evidence and a practical next action.

01

Finding summary

A concise explanation of what was observed and the level of concern supported by the measurements.

02

Evidence and context

Relevant vibration features, measurement locations and operating context behind the finding.

03

Confidence behind the finding

What supports the conclusion, how strong the evidence is and what additional check would add value if needed.

04

Recommended next step

A practical next action: continue operating, inspect, re-measure, plan maintenance, or escalate monitoring.

05

Useful baseline

Where conditions allow, the snapshot can provide a reference point for a later comparison.

06

Standalone diagnostic service

The snapshot is a complete standalone service. Continuous monitoring is discussed when observing change over time would add practical value.

Local coverage

Industrial sites across the West Midlands

EchoShift provides on-site diagnostics across Coventry, Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Tipton, the Black Country, Solihull and surrounding West Midlands manufacturing areas. Travel and machine access are confirmed before attendance.

Questions

Snapshot diagnostic FAQs

Practical answers before you book.

How much does a diagnostic snapshot cost?

A single-machine diagnostic snapshot starts from £125. Multi-machine visits, extended travel or more involved diagnostic work are quoted before attendance so you know the scope and price in advance.

Do you need to drill the machine?

Usually not for a snapshot. A suitable rigid magnetic mount is the preferred fast option on compatible surfaces. Other temporary or existing fixing points can be used where they give a better measurement path.

What can one diagnostic visit tell us?

A single visit can often identify strong vibration patterns, localise the area of concern and direct the next maintenance step. Some problems benefit from speed, load, geometry, repeat measurements or inspection before the final cause is confirmed.

What machinery can you assess?

EchoShift can assess electric motors, pumps, gearboxes, mixers, fans, blowers, conveyors, compressors and other rotating machinery where safe, useful vibration measurements can be taken.
